About us
Regardless of where you live, how old you are or how much money you have, your world is your home, even if it is a one-room apartment.
We want to help you optimize your world to the best of your ability, both aesthetically and functionally.
Human beings are animals and as such we are instinctively territorial. Many people forget that the modern “man pit” is largely based on its predecessor…the real pit.
The idea of that first pit is still deeply buried in our psyche. Ask anyone. We, homo sapiens, are of course attracted to the idea that we have a place that is only ours.
Protected. Well feathered. Separately. No division. And so on.
Here, on our blog, we are not only about the so-called “man pit”. We think that this version of men’s living space is limited, one-dimensional and old school.
Your space should be what you want it to be. It doesn’t matter how “manly” others think he is. It’s your space, not theirs.
OUR BLOG IS ABOUT BRINGING THAT SPACE INTO EXISTENCE. ABOUT BECOMING ONE WITH THAT SPACE. OH … ALL THOSE THINGS.
“Things” may seem like a bad description, etc., but we want to encourage creative thinking about your space. Your space. You can easily fill the gap with whatever you want, and that’s really the point.
Whether or not you need news, ideas and inspiration, this is where we start:
We collect and organize the best content in the fields of technology, news, food, lifestyle, etc. from around the world.
We recommend products that help you design your ideal space.
We show you DIY guides to improve your space (and the things you keep in it).
You can easily understand us as guides on the mountain of that inner path, but that’s only half the story. The other half – the important half – is that we are on this journey with you.
We are people who are looking for the same things. We value convenience. We want quality. We demand freedom, to be what we are, in our own space.
To clarify, it is about more than just showing what to buy. Of course, there are things that will make our space more livable and more pleasant, but the inclusion of objects in life is a simple aspect of our blog.
Let’s borrow an important point from Chuck Palahniuk (Fight Club fame):
“THE TEACHER WHO REMOVES ALL OF MY POSSESSIONS WILL SET ME FREE.”
There is something primal about removing unnecessary minutiae, but we are not purists. This concept is the most valuable, for those who are rare, our hope is for us – and for you – that Spartan living remains a choice and not a necessity.
In this regard, our blog is about the ability to live happily with less, if necessary. Don’t be a minimalist just because it’s a trend.
We will not deny ourselves a deep knowledge of luxury. After all, living is for living, and if living for you means spending 2 million on a stereo with gold and diamonds for your love affair, then we want to help, that it is an informed decision.
Our blog is the art of accepting your right to enjoy your personal space, whether it’s your first solo home, your creative studio, your garage or your family’s house.
We all need a separate shelter before the storm, and we are here to help you maximize its potential.
